Journeys

Journey II, 2022, consists of chalk drawings on MDF and soft pastel drawings on cardboard. A drawing process performed directly after practicing Active imagination, a method by psychoanalyst C.G. Jung. 
The theme for the work was autobiographically from Rudolf Steiner's research on the 7-year periods.
The works were shown in a solo show at Galleri Ping-Pong, Malmö, Sweden and in a group show at Ruimte Caseuur, Middelburg, Netherlands.

Correspondences

My ritual when making the monotypes is that I first set out all the material: plates, ink, brushes and paper. Then I go into a meditative state for a while before I choose the colors; a limited palette based on what the meditation has given, the mood, a picture, a memory or a dream that has emerged. The images that appear on the plate are often reflections and energy threads between heaven and earth - a kind of landscape.

Correspondences II

In this suite of works from 2019 I explored the technique of monotype printmaking, a method in which I paint directly on the printing plate. The result from one print is what has brought the process forward, as I kept painting on the same plate without cleaning it in between prints. What’s left of the old print has formed traces of the past in the ones that follow. Like memories. Like dreams. A way to search beyond and dare to get lost.
The whole suite was shown in the group exhibition Esoteric Transition at Studio44.

Axis Mundi

This project from 2017 consists of charcoal drawings and a sound work. 
The suite was drawn at a swap-studio in Berlin right after The Mountain Meditation (that I’ve learned from the founder and British medium Terry Evans).
On the exhibition Beyond at Gallery Candyland in Stockholm there were also automatic texts and a performance at the opening by artist students. During a few months the students visited my studio for led meditations and creative writing.

Axis Mundi Berlin

Axis Mundi, 2016, consists of charcoal drawings made in direct connection with a hypnagogic state of mind reached by Active Imagination, a method founded by the Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung. The drawings were exhibited in Swedish-Chinese contexts in Kunming, Beijing and Stockholm.

Spirit Projects

The project consists of a performance, graphite drawings and chalk drawings. The research and work were made 2014-2015 starting with a question from Dr.Thomas Karlsson, occultist and writer, to make a performance on an esoteric conference at Villa San Michele, Capri – Italy.
In the performance the Swedish doctor Axel Munthe meets the Marchesa Casati. Axel’s Meal is composed of three acts: Cooking Show, Talk Show and Ritual. It was performed in the chapel of Villa San Michele.

Project Axel

The project consists of graphite drawings, chalk drawings on a blackboard, a performance and a blog.
Since early in the 80’s I was fascinated by the artist Hilma af Klint. 2014 I did an Artist-in-residence at Art Lab Gnesta in Sweden. I stayed in a small cottage and lived as close as possible to the life that Hilma lived 100 years ago.
The residency included close reading of texts by Rudolf Steiner as well as mediumistic art making. Hilma’s Meal is composed of three acts: Cooking Show, Talk Show and Ritual. It was performed in the art hall of Art Lab Gnesta.

Project Hilma

The project consists of big charcoal drawings, a performance and an essay. 2012 I took a course on Artistic Research at Konstfack which resulted in a work about the Swedish mystic Emanuel Swedenborg. After a lot of close reading, writing and drawing, the project led to A Meal in Swedenborgs Summerhouse, a performance composed of three acts: Cooking Show, Talk Show and Ritual.
The performance took place in the replica of Swedenborg’s Summerhouse at Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden.
